Local National Trust properties reopening

BASILDON Park and The Vyne are among properties that have started to reopen and welcome visitors back this week. National Trust staff and volunteers have been work- ing hard to get the properties ready to reopen safely with so- cial distancing in place. Some small properties or rooms which can’t accommo- date social distancing will reo- pen at a later date, once Covid restrictions are lifted or when repair work is completed. Bookings for weekends, bank holidays and school holidays are recommended to guarantee admission, but it is not usually necessary for mid- week visits. In all houses masks are mandatory – unless exempt – and Track & Trace details will be requested. Basildon Park will be open every day except Wednesdays, from noon until 5pm. All the staterooms are open on the first floor of the house with volunteer room guides to provide information about the

MR Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe has made a welcome return to Newbury. The new store was opened by Newbury mayor Billy Drummond on Friday in Northbrook Street, in the premises of the former Ernest Jones store.
