WOOLTON Hill Village Market returned on Saturday after a year away due to the coronavirus pandemic. The bi-monthly market was held in the grounds of Woolton Hill Junior School and, despite the heavy downpours, visitors were not put off, with more than 700 people attending across the three hours. There were nearly 30 stalls offering goods from meat, cheese and bread to artisan crafts such as basket weaving and wooden boards. Singing duo Scampy provided free entertainment at the market, while tea and coffee was consumed under gazebos laid out in the grounds. The market is organised by three local women – Claire Robins, Sandra Ferguson and Sally Fenwick. Mrs Fenwick said she was delighted with the turnout. “The spirit of this community is amazing,” she added. “We couldn’t be more pleased with how today has gone and everyone has been really complimentary.
