COTTAGE Inn were crowned cham- pions of the Newbury Sunday League Premier Division after a 4-2 home win against OLA Prestige. Before the game, just one point sepa- rated the league leaders from Paggies Bar in second and Cottage knew that a win would guarantee them the league title. Reg Gregory (2), Harry Monger and Jack Stirland all scored in the win and it also saw Cottage Inn go the whole season unbeaten, winning 10 and drawing two of their 12 games. Paggies Bar, despite a 7-5 win over Woolton Hill Argyle, had to settle for the runners-up spot. Conor Lynch and Danny Field both net- ted braces for Argyle, while Ben Perrins also scored in the defeat. As a result, they finish the campaign in third place, four points ahead of AFC Her- mitage, who beat Bucklebury 4-0 on the final day of the season. Goals from Josh Lawrence, Kieran Col- lins, Jordan Forbes and Connor Rodgers ensured that Hermitage finished the sea- son in fourth place.
