Sparkling success THE Winding Wood Vineyard won a prestigious national award. The vineyard, at Orpenham Farm, Winding Wood, near Hungerford, is in its sixth year of production. The ‘boutique’ vineyard is the project of business partners Christopher Cooke and Robert Louth, who describe it as“a labour of love”. Mr Cooke said: “We’ve won a gold medal in the WineGB awards with our 2016 vintage of sparkling wine– only our second release of wine.” The judges included well- known wine writer and broadcaster Oz Clarke. were not sure what to do.
