Newbury Weekly News

Dear Santa I wish that all my family, friends and teachers to have a fantastic Christmas and hopefully I will get lots of toys to play with. I don’ t mind what they are as long as they are fun. Could I also ask for something for my dog too Dixie as I love her so much. Thanks Santa

ST JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL AND NURSERY

NURSERY In our spacious Nursery classroom each child’s success story begins with caring, knowledgeable practitioners, experienced in ensuring that they are happy, challenged and engaged. The environment and resources are designed to provide opportunities to develop key skills of resilience, team work, concentration and problem-solving. After several terms of child-initiated, energetic learning at all levels, our children move on to the rest of their school life with the confidence, independence and positive attitude to set them up for a bright future.

EYFS At St Joseph’s we value the importance of the Early years and our children are able to learn through open-ended, play-based activities. Our recently refurbished classrooms are filled with natural, neutral resources that inspire curiosity and wonder for our children. Our skilled members of staff work with the children to extend their learning through their interests and play. Through their knowledge of the curriculum, staff are able to respond to children’s individual needs and skills. At St Joseph’s we want to ensure our children grow spiritually and develop their connection with God. In class we join in with daily worships, we say prayers and we learn key stories from the Bible. We work with our families to ensure our children have the best start in their education journeys.’

#writethenextchapter West Berkshire Council are currently seeking new foster carers who could provide a loving and secure home for siblings such as Olivia, Freya and Jack who can no longer live at home. We need families who can offer these children a chance to maintain their relationships. Could you be the family they need thrive together? If you think you are ready for this challenge, then please contact the Family Placement Team on T: 01635 503155 E: Fostering@westberks.gov.uk
