Since he has been with us, Captain Tom has been neutered, had flea and worm treatment and a vet check-up. He has a warm bed, food, water and…toys! As a charity we rely solely on the generosity of and kindness of public donations to enable us to go on caring for cats and kittens. The team would also like to pass on their gratitude for all who have kept their cats in mind at this difficult time. Newbury and District is a self-funding branch of Cats Protection and has to find over £125,000 a year to fund the work of the Adoption Centre. In these uncertain times the centre is closed and we have had to postpone all of our fundraising events. The staff are continuing to look after the cats who are still in their care. This lovely Cat was left cold and scared on our doorstep one night. Staff found him with no blanket or cover in a trap with no water or food when they arrived for work the following morning. We think he is pretty special so named him after another pretty special gentleman, Captain Tom.
