There is also focus on 'Chal- lenges and Achievements' in school, where each child progresses through valuable life skills during their time at the Cedars, ranging from making their bed to cooking a meal, to basic money management and arranging fundraising activities. Children leave The Cedars School as academically and socially confident young people, prepared for the next step in their education. Leavers progress to a range of secondary schools such as Park House, Abingdon Boys, Pang- bourne College, the Willink and Cranford House, among many other highly academic, sporting and specialist schools. Past pupils regale the school with news of successes including marathon runs, sky dives and even winning at Horse of the Year Show. The school also enjoys hearing of great careers, with former pupils becoming doctors, vets, archaeologists, producers and many more. The next Open Mornings are on Thursday, September 29 and Thursday, November 10. If these are not convenient, the school welcomes visitors throughout the year, so do call to arrange a convenient time. THE Cedars School is a delightful, independent day school for boys and girls from four to 11 years old with an Outstanding Ofsted report. Small classes and a tailored education mean that the school is able to offer both support and opportunities for children of all strengths and abilities. With limited spaces available, the school already has a waiting list for Reception children in September 2017, and just a few spaces available in other academic years. Over the coming months, the whole school has a range of exciting trips and visits to look forward to, including canoeing at The Dolphin Centre in Pang- bourne, seeing Stick Men at The Haymarket Theatre, and a full school trip to The Corn Exchange for the annual pantomime. The Cedars also offers an array of extracurricular activities including Lego, crafts, Judo and Latin. Children achieve high academic standards and sporting success, as well as learning about key values in life with emphasis put on health, the environment, social skills and helping others. The Cedars has a long-standing relationship with Treloars, a school for the handicapped, and children raise money through- out the year to support Treloars as well as visiting them and spending time around those whose lives are more challeng- ing than their own.
