Queen Mary’s College Have you considered Queen Mar y’s sixth form college?

Oxford, Jess Muller who won a place at Surrey to study Nutri- tion and Dietetics, and Hope Millington who is going to read Law at Manchester University. Khazna Chamo speaks very highly of the support and oppor- tunities provided by QMC; senti- ments echoed by all of our students including Daniel Reid (A* A* A) who is going to Bristol to study Liberal Arts. Daniel “can’t thank QMC teach- ers enough” and is hoping that the lecturers at university are as excellent. QMC has a wide range of courses on offer, catering for all abilities, and offers direct buses into college from the Newbury, Thatcham and Kingsclere areas. Open evenings give prospective students and their parents the opportunity to discover what makes QMC so special and we will happily discuss students’ options to help them get where they want to go. WITH excellent results year on year and a vibrant and engag- ing atmosphere, students find it impossible to resist partici- pating in the opportunities open to them at Queen Mary’s College. Each individual is supported to achieve their full potential, not just in terms of qualifications but also transferable skills and resilience. Students leave with a bright future ahead, whether progress- ing to university, apprenticeships, sponsored degrees, further train- ing or meaningful employment. With enthusiastic and committed teachers and superb facilities, the majority of students at QMC do far better than they ever thought possible when they started. With nearly 2,000 entries at A- level, the overall pass rate this year was 99 per cent. The college has a well-deserved reputation for excellent results and 2016 was no exception with almost 50 per cent of all grades awarded being high grades (A* – B). Many students supplement their A-level programme with an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), an independent research project of their choice designed to develop many of the skills required for higher education or employment. More than 66 per cent of all students taking this qualification gained either an A* or A grade in 2016. QMC excels in the STEM subjects

were both successful in gaining places at London School of Economics this year. Other students who achieved the highest grades and therefore gained places at the most presti- gious universities included Callum Cleary who will be read- ing geography at Christ Church,
