WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL UNDER SECTION 14/1 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL) INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING (POUND LANE, THATCHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2020 The Council intends , not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Pound Lane in Thatcham between its junction with Winston Way and its junction with Redshank Court. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Lower Way, A4, Fir Tree Lane, Turnpike Road, A4 and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for all works associated with a neighbouring new development. The proposed Order will come into effect on Monday 6th July 2020. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 07:30 and 17:30 daily from Monday 6th July 2020 for 5 days. (THREE ACRE ROAD, NEWBURY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2020 The Council intends , not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Three Acre Road in the parish of Newbury between its junction with Roebuts Close and its junction with The Glade. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Roebuts Close, The Glade and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to install a new service connection. The proposed Order will come into effect on 6th July 2020. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 7th and 10th July 2020. (HOLT LANE, BRIGHTWALTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2020 The Council intends , not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Holt Lane in the parish of Brightwalton between its junction with The Green and its junction with Honesty Bottom. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Honesty Bottom, Sparrowbill, Wantage Road (B4494), Holt lane and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for BT to carry out repairs to an overhead cable. The proposed Order will come into effect on 6th July 2020. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 6th and 7th July 2020, during the times of 09:30 and 15:30 each day. (HENWICK LANE & BOWLING GREEN ROAD, THATCHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2020 The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Henwick Lane & Bowling Green Road between its junctions with Gordon Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Gordon Road. The purpose of this Order is to enable remedial works following installation of ducting and high voltage electric cable within the carriageway. The proposed Order will come into effect on 22nd June 2020. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 29th and 30th June 2020. (NORTHFIELDS, CHIEVELEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2020 The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Northfields in the parish of Chieveley between its junction with road known as Downend Lane and its junction with road known as Old Street. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Unnamed Road from Mud Lane to Old Street, Mud Lane, Hill Green, B4494 Wantage Road, School Road, High Street, and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to install a New service connection. The proposed Order will come into effect on 22nd June 2020. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 10th and 14th August 2020. (WASING ROAD, BRIMPTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2020 The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Wasing Road in the parish of Brimpton between its junction with Brimpton Lane and its junction with Station Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Brimpton Lane, Brimpton Road, A4 Bath Road, Station Road, and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for contractors to carry out sewer cleaning within the carriageway. The proposed Order will come into effect on 22nd June 2020. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place during the hours of 09.30 and 16.00 on the 8th August 2020. (STATION ROAD AND TOWN CENTRE, NEWBURY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, WAITING AND LOADING) ORDER 2020 In order to assist with social distancing and safety in the current Pandemic The Council has made an order in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effects of which will be as follows. 1. Station Road, will be closed to all vehicles between its junctions with Bartholomew Street and Link Road. Alternative route for all vehicles affected by the closure via Newtown Road, St John Road and Link Road. In addition no waiting will be allowed on the same length of road. 2. Northbrook Street, eastern side from the junction with East Street (Parkway) north for a distance of 25 metres, loading and unloading will be permitted by goods vehicles only. 3. Wharf Street, southern side, from the junction with Wharf Road to the pedestrianised area, loading and unloading will be permitted by goods vehicles only. 4. Old Bath Road, southern side. No waiting will be allowed at any time Between Leys Gardens and Speen Hill Close. The proposed Order will come into effect on 19th June 2020 and remain in force for 18 months. The restrictions will be implemented and reviewed when deemed necessary by the council. Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected.
