Surgery delivers mass flu jabs at Highclere
of the surgery who provided them with a generous supply of tea, coffee and sandwiches to help ward off the autumn weather. “The positive relationship and synergy between Newbury Rotary and this surgery are an excellent demonstration of the practical hands-oncommunitysupport that is also a fundamentalpart of each Rotarian ’s commitment to ‘service above self ’. “Newbury Rotary extend their thanks to the Kintbury and Woolton Hill Surgery for provid- ing such a positive experience, and also to the attending patients for their friendly cooperation that made marshalling such a pleasure.” Newbury Rotary Club consists of around 30 men and women from Newbury, Thatcham and Cold Ash who give up a few hours of their time each week to perform voluntary work in the community both as Rotarians and independently.
KINTBURY & Woolton Hill Surgery held a mass flu vacci- nation drive at Thorngrove School, Highclere, over the first three Saturdays of Octo- ber. A steady stream of adults and children – specifically nominated by each surgery – passed through the registration and vaccination process according to pre-booked time slots between 8am and 4pm. To help smooth the arrival and departure process of the hundreds of people per day, Newbury Rotary Club were asked to handle the vehicle and people marshalling. Rotary Club president Les Osmond said: “Given the lock- down limitations imposed on the men and women of Newbury Rotary over the previous six months, the Rotarians leapt at this chance to once again be of practical service to their commu- nity. “They were also delighted to experience the warm hospitality

Items donated by the developer included deodorant, shower gel, razors, sponge puddings and tinned fruit – all of which were desperately needed by the food- bank.
