A34 TRUNK ROAD – NEAR EAST ILSLEY TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL UNDER SECTION 14/1 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL) INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING (HAMBRIDGE ROAD, NEWBURY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2020 The Council intends , not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Hambridge Road in Newbury between its junction with Boundary Road and its junction with Arnhem Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via (travelling westbound) Bone lane and Boundary Road. For vehicles (except HGV) travelling eastbound is via Mill Lane, and Bone Lane. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to Lay a reinforcement main on Hambridge Road. The proposed Order will come into effect on 16th November 2020. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 16th November and 4th December 2020. (SHOOTERS HILL, BASILDON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2020 The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Railway Bridge MLN1/41 Shooters Hill in between its junction with Shooters Hill and its junction with A340. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Shooters Hill, A329 Reading Road, B4009 Streatley Hill, Reading Road, Aldworth Road, Pangbourne Road, Pangbourne Hill, Station Road, Shooters Hill and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Network Rail to carry out a safety examination of the bridge structure. The proposed Order will come into effect on 12th November 2020. Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected. Final details of the closure can be viewed on One.Network NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (Public Footpath Burghfield 3, Moatlands Cottages) Public Path Extinguishment Order 2020 On 22nd October 2020, West Berkshire Council confirmed the above order, made under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the order as confirmed is to extinguish public footpath Burghfield 3 running from point X (Grid Reference 466996 170245) on Field Farm Road in a south-westerly direction for approximately 140 metres, past Moatlands Cottages (postcode RG30 3TA), to point Y (Grid Reference 466909 170134) on the northern edge of the M4 Motorway as shown on the Order map. The Order and map may be seen free of charge at the offices below during normal office hours. Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A34 Trunk Road in the Unitary Authority of West Berkshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise the 24-hour closure of the lay-by adjacent to the southbound carriageway of the A34 between points 512 metres and 700 metres south of The Ridgeway underbridge. This measure is in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake installation of a traffic surveillance camera. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 3 weeks starting on or after Tuesday 10th November 2020. The Order will come into force on 8 November 2020 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
