Marque is supported by the New Forest National Park Authority and its sponsor members who all have connections with, and a passion for the New Forest.

Look for the New Forest Marque which is the sign of true local produce. You’ll know that anything with the distinctive logo is grown, reared, brewed, produced or processed here in the New Forest. The New Forest Marque has around 160 members, proudly representing many areas of New Forest business, including food and drink; hospitality and retail; craft; art; trees and education.

Established in 2004 and originally set up as Forest Friendly Farming supporting commoners and farmers in the New Forest, the organisation has expanded its membership of people dedicated to championing New Forest produce and good provenance. All New Forest Marque goods must meet strict criteria that guarantees they are truly local. Hospitality and retail members with the logo offer their customers a wide selection of Marque produce.

When national supply chains were stretched, these local businesses went the extra mile to provide for their communities. Now, as we return to lockdown restrictions, why not see what your local producers and retailers can offer? Generally New Forest Marque producers are small, artisan businesses, farming and growing on a small scale. Members include commoners and farmers whose animals are born and bred in the New Forest and will be grazed outdoors, and in many cases, on the open Forest. During Covid-19 restrictions, many Marque members adjusted their businesses to support local communities. Many hotels, restaurants, pubs and cafes that have been forced to close completely during lockdown are now offering local home deliveries so that customers can enjoy their favourite restaurant meals form the comfort of their own home. Some have introduced Drive Through and Click and Collect options, as well as developing their menus to include freshly prepared ready meals to re-heat or freeze as needed. In many cases these businesses offer vital support and lifelines for people – many of whom are vulnerable.
