A s well as the towns beautiful festive illumi- nations there are also plans to create a socially dis- tanced Nativity Trail around the town centre as part of a community engagement in- itiative led by the New Life Church at Gore Road. During a recent New Mil- ton Town Council meeting Liz Bastable the churches children and family worker explained that the fun and festive idea had been con- ceived to create community entertainment for families in a Covid safe way. The idea of the trail is that visitors will be able to follow a short route marked out by seven A4 signs which are illustrat- ed with images of characters from the nativity story. Each of the signs will also include a smart phone com- patible QR code that can be scanned to unlock further fun activities and questions. The trail would be aimed at the whole community, as well as families from the New Life Church and surrounding churches.

In a letter to the town council Ms Bastable said: “We have seen

Welfare benefit and Blue Badge applications, new and lightly used mobility equipment and daily living aids, advice on living at home safely. Please phone to see what we have to offer. Closed for Christmas from 23rd December, re-opening 4th January Helpline 01425 628750

Covid-19 hit families hard this year, with very few activities on for children and families We think this trail would be a good, free and safe opportunity to spread a bit of Christmas joy as well as engage children and families with their community.”
