T his year heralds the launch of Love Liquor, a If you are a fan of gin, this is the event of the year for you and a perfect pre-Christmas get-together for friends. The festival organisers aim to bring you a hand-picked selection of the finest spirits and mixers all under one roof. The trend for gin and other spirits is booming and Love Liquor is proud to be the first festival of its kind in Newbury. The festival will be held in the Berkshire Stand of Newbury Racecourse between 12noon and 5pm and then again from 6pm to 11pm. Love Liquor promises to provide something for everybody with gin, rum, vodka, whisky and tequila all on show and available to taste. The event is sponsored by numerous artisan gins, including Caspyn, from Cornish distillers Pocketful of Stones, Brockmans, from Woking and Sacred Gin from North London. All the spirits have been meticulously paired with mixers provided by Fentimans Botanically Brewed Mixers, with plenty of garnish to give you a perfect serve every time. Your ticketed entry includes an event brochure to give you hints and tips to make the most of the evening and an event glass to use and take home with you. You need to be aged 18 or over to consume the alcohol and must be prepared to present ID at the festival. In addition, there will be hot food and live music from local band Paper Houses, with their fantastic acoustic covers, as well as soulful songs from local artist Jake Ward. Tickets cost £10 and should be purchased in advance, stating which time you want to go.
