Having experienced the delights of being mother of the groom earlier this year – yes, that’s my son and daughter-in-law on the cover – I have seen first-hand the amount of planning and preparation that goes in to a wedding.

Not that I had to do much other than turn up. All the work was done by the bride and groom, with meticulous attention to every detail from save-the-date reminders to the spectacular firework display at the end of their day. We are fortunate to have a number of fantastic venues in the area and each one is primed and ready to provide the best day possible for prospective couples. There are packages to suit every budget and the stress of planning the day is alleviated by, in many cases, a dedicated wedding planner. Whether you’re looking for a reception venue following a church wedding or for a setting where you can do everything under one roof, there is a wide selection of ideas in the following pages. There is a lot to think about – the clothes, the flowers, the photographer, the place names – never mind, who to sit nexts to whom. All the suppliers included in this supplement are there to make your day the best it can be.

If you really don’t know where to start then we also have some tickets to the National Wedding Show at the NEC, in Birmingham, to be won. It is a showcase for the latest trends and ideas for your special day.
