Out & About Spring 2019

CHORAL MUSIC

Singing may be good for soul, but so is listening to choral music and the festival has a reputation for great choral music, priding itself on having its own choir, The Festival Chorus. All the local singers are extremely dedicated and this year are performing the Vaughan Williams’s A Sea Symphony at the closing concert. There are also three other choral concerts in the programme. Visiting for the first time is the world-renowned Gabrieli Consort with Paul McCreesh and a programme of 20th-century secular English choral music, at Holy Cross Church, Ramsbury. Tenebrae return to Douai Abbey where, with candlelight only, they will perform Tomas Luis de Victoria’s Requiem for six voices.
