COMPETITION Win a hamper from Highclere

T he Earl and Countess of Carnarvon are delighted to welcome visitors to the Christmas Fair at Highclere Castle on Wednesday, December 5 and Thursday, December 6. Admire the spectacular Christmas tree and Christmas decorations, enjoy the carol singers in the saloon and shop for all your Christmas presents at the stalls that fill the state rooms in the castle and the courtyard behind. These two days are in aid of Thames Valley Air Ambulance and St Michael & All Angels Church, Highclere. The ticket (£25 per person) includes entry to the fair, castle gift shop, tearooms and gardens. If you wish to walk around the gallery and see the bedrooms, a suggested £3 donation or more to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, which will have representatives by the staircase, will be much appreciated. You may also upgrade your ticket for an additional £5 to explore the Egyptian Exhibition housed in the cellars of the castle.

The fair opens at 9.30am with last admission at 2.30pm. The grounds close at 4.30pm. Tickets are split into two admission times, with morning ticket holders asked to enter between 9.30am and 12noon, and afternoon tickets holders between 12noon and 2.30pm.
