Eight Bells for Mental Health is a charity that offers a welcoming and supportive environment to anyone aged 18-plus, who is experiencing mental health issues in Newbury, Thatcham and surrounding areas

There are laptops and high-speed broadband for members’ use and a catering team which offers a freshly cooked lunch at every session. The centre creates a great atmosphere where people feel part of a community. It is a safe, welcoming space where people can make their own decisions and choices and participate in deciding how things are done. They can get involved in running things, take part in activities or just drop in to enjoy a cup of coffee, among friendly faces. Our longest-serving members offer basic

mentoring and a one-to- one friendship scheme to new and more vulnerable service users which has been hugely successful. Our award-winning art group meets every Monday afternoon for members of all abilities, other activities include Nature Therapy at Thatcham Discovery Centre, meditation and Yoga sessions, gardening, day trips and access to courses such as Food Health and Hygiene, First Aid, Mental Health lite courses, Peer Support and Advocacy.
