Multi award winning, The Newbury gastro pub is no longer one of the town’s best kept secrets – word of the delicious food which is served, has reached the rest of the UK and beyond. The independent pub opened its doors in 2012 and the town welcomed owner, Pete Lumber. The Newbury welcomes back head chef Darren Booker Wilson, who has received Michelin recommendations AA Rosette awards, brings his flair and passion to complement the team. Darren is well known throughout West Berkshire and surrounding counties. Working with Pete, Darren ensures the menu stays fresh, boasting seasonal food with guaran- teed provenance. Quality meats, including grass fed Ruby Red Devon, and Gloucestershire Old Spot Pork, are sourced from around Berkshire, and the south west. Pete explained: “I am very passionate about what we do here, and what I’ve created. This is what I love.” The interior of the pub has its own theme and design, and this adds to the quality of the gastro experience.
