Show Guide 2018
The President’s Charity The president’s charity for 2018 is The Thames Valley Air Ambulance
Peter Carlisle, President of the Royal County of Berkshire Show comments, ‘I am very pleased that my chosen charity for 2018 is the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, which provides crucial support in rural areas for many activities including farming and equestrianism alongside many types of biking pursuits.’ Over the years the service has managed to transform from being a ‘swoop and scoop’ transport service to providing the pre-hospital emergency medicine that is so critical in emergency situations. Teams now have the latest life support kit at their fingertips, including a compact chest compressor which allows medics to give continued treatment whilst keeping the heart pumping.
Covering a population of over two million people in Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, The Thames Valley Air Ambulance bring advanced expertise and specialist equipment to patients within minutes of an emergency call. With help from the local community, TVAA are proud to be an organisation that is committed to constant development and enhancement and above all else, patient care. With experienced doctors and paramedic crews able to reach people in need within minutes, advanced life-saving critical care is able to be delivered in an environment that you normally would only be able to find in a hospital A&E department.

“
Thames Valley Air Ambulance are delighted to be the chosen charity for The Royal County of Berkshire Show in 2018. Covering large rural areas across our service area, means we are often needed for farming and equestrian related incidents, and we are so grateful for the continued support from the community we serve. We look forward to working with Berkshire Show to raise vital funds and awareness, and meeting many of our supporters in September
