Out&About food & drink

This walk is shorter, about 20-30minutes and when you come out by St Michael & All Angel’s Church you can follow the road up the A343 and walk along it to The Red House.

1 When you cross the road from the Red House if you turn left towards Newbury you will come to a covered footpath which leads straight down to a glebe and through to St Michael & All Angel’s Church.

2 Walk through the church car park and you will come to a road, which, if you follow it round and take a left at the fork by a bridge, will take you back up to the main road and from there you turn left and head back towards The Red House.

​T he Red House at Highclere is a popular village pub/ restaurant serving homemade food and serving fine wine and local real ales. Pizza are made on site to takeaway or eat in or you can enjoy an 8oz burger or the Crispy Duck with Thai Fried Noodles. Friendly, cosy atmosphere makes it a great meeting place for a quiet drink and the pub has also been offering a working from the pub deal. It is a family and dog-friendly pub and wheelchair accessible. There is an outdoor seating area at the front and ample parking.
