COPING WITH YOUR LOSS

Whether you have lost your loved one recently, months or even years ago and still finding life difficult, Oakhaven Wellbeing offers ongoing support.

You do not need a referral or be known to Oakhaven. If you reside in the local communities across the New Forest,Waterside and Totton areas you can access our suppor t. Why not drop-in to our friendly and welcoming Coates Centre where you can find information and suppor t to

help you find the best way to cope with your loss and bereavement.Whether you choose to access suppor t through one-to-one or group sessions, activities and courses, or just for a chat with our trained volunteers over a cuppa, we are here for you. Bereavement Support • Bereavement Socials to meet other people whose lives have been affected by bereavement. Open to all, whether you are recently bereaved, or many months, even years along your journey, you are welcome to come along when you feel ready. • Cookery Classes , over six weeks the classes are specifically for anyone who has been bereaved to give you the basic skills and motivation to cook healthily for yourself. • Men’s Bereavement Support Group is a closed support group just for men living with the loss and grief of a partner/spouse, parent, sibling or friend. • SixWeek CopingWith Grief Course to help those coping with the death of a husband, wife or partner. • WeeklyTelephone Support trained volunteers can listen and support you for up to six sessions, and especially helpful if you are feeling isolated and need to hear a friendly voice from someone who understands how you are feeling. • Widowed Friendship Club when you feel ready to start socialising again, meet others who understand a different life living, not as a couple.You don’t have to have had any association with the Hospice, and it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been widowed.This self-help group is run by widowed men and women and the group enjoys lunches, dinners, theatre visits, walks, trips out and holidays.

Open Monday to Friday 10am until 4pm The Coates Centre is situated in the gardens of Oakhaven Hospice, Lower Pennington Lane, Lymington SO41 8ZZ and is a service provided to the community by Oakhaven Hospice Trust
