Our size also affords us great flexibility, to offer new subjects, to teach different classes in different ways to suit their needs or to provide boarding as needed even for just one night.

CONSISTENCY is key As we start the academic year, my eighth as Head of Wychwood, I reflect on the changes happening in education, particularly in Oxford. At Wychwood, a unique day and boarding school for 120 girls aged 11-18, our small size and settled leadership and teaching team allows us to know each child, her strengths and her weaknesses. Too many girls go through education hiding their talents away and only in a small school can this be effectively and sensitively challenged. We help as necessary, praise and recognise the many achievements great and small that make up a school life and exhort and remind when required.
