THE Royal Oak, Ecchinswell, offers a warm and cosy welcome with elegance wherever you turn, from the large manicured lawns, with a river flowing majestically by, to the fresh atmosphere of the light, airy and uncluttered interior. The owners, Chris and Laura, are immensely welcoming and are rightly proud of the select menu, which uses as much local produce as possible. The Royal Oak is a popular local haunt, with a reputation for fabulous evening meals, as well as its superb Sunday lunch. Chris and Laura’s aim was to create the perfect environment for relaxing and entertaining, and never more so than in the festive season when the blazing fire offers a warm welcome to this cosy establishment. And there’s plenty of choice on the festive menu as well. The Royal Oak is open Monday to Thursday, noon to 3pm and 5pm to 11pm; and Friday and Saturday, noon to midnight.
