THE Fox & Hounds is a traditional family-run pub on the outskirts of Newbury. It is owned by Nick Vine, who also owns Griffins’ Butchers in Newbury, which supplies the pub with the finest cuts of meat. Nick’s daughter Steph runs the establishment with her brother Tom and sister Chloe. Steph and her team offer a warm, friendly welcome with real ales and excellent, locally-sourced seasonal food cooked fresh everyday by their professional chefs. A Christmas drink, be it pulled or poured, comes with an extra splash of seasonal cheer at The Fox & Hounds where the festive season is always celebrated in style. So whether you want to while away the hours with a pint of real ale, a glass of wine, or dinner with family and friends, they are always pleased to see you – so do pop in and say hi. The restaurant has a double-sided log burner and there’s an open fire in the bar, to keep you warm and Tuesday-Saturday, 11am-11pm, food served from noon to 2.30pm and 6pm-9pm (9.30pm, Friday and Saturday).
