Free range turkeys for Christmas

THE Walters Family have been farming at Bower Farm high on the Berkshire Downs for over 110 years and in 2021 we are delighted to be celebrating a special anniversary… 50 years of producing the highest quality fresh turkeys for Christmas. We are very much a family business passionate about the welfare and production of our turkeys. Ed Walters carefully selects slow growing traditional breeds that reach full maturity naturally, he then specially formulates their diet, free from growth promoters and including home-grown cereals freshly milled on our family farm. Our turkeys enjoy a happy stress-free environment, running through the meadows while breathing in the fresh air of the Berkshire Downs. The turkeys are all dry plucked, game hung and hand finished on our farm ensuring they are moist, tender and develop that full old-fashioned flavour Walters Turkeys are renowned for. We are independently audited and inspected, guaranteeing stringent welfare and production methods. Our organic turkeys all meet the standards of the Soil Association, while we are a member of the Traditional Farmfresh Turkey Association and are a SALSA certified supplier. In 2021, our golden year, we are thrilled to have been awarded two gold stars from the Great Taste Awards for our Free Range Whole Turkey.
