More photographs from the frontline of history

HISTORY continues to be made before our very eyes as the coronavirus lockdown continues. Our award-winning photographer Phil Cannings has been capturing unprecedented scenes with a series of stunning pictures – and we print two more pages of them this week. We would like to remind everyone that at the Newbury Weekly News we take our responsibility to abide by the emergency regulations in place very seriously. All our staff are working from home, even though journalists are classified as key, essential workers. It is our duty to record this moment in our district’s history so that our children, grand- children and great-grand- children can learn about

what we are going through. And this means our photographer Phil may still venture out to capture shots like these. He always respects the social distancing guidelines we should all be following.
