HOW TO...DECOPATCH

A few tips and pointers

v It is important that the paper is completely sandwiched between glue v Be patient – apply one piece at a time. You will get a much smoother finish to your object v The glue will go on white, but will dry to a crystal-clear finish v On curves, bends, nooks and crannies, use smaller pieces and if the paper starts to pleat or crease a bit, just use brush or finger to smooth down. The paper is so thin it will go completely smooth v Once you get going you’ll find you can use your gluey brush to pick up paper pieces to place on object v Don’t glue too far ahead, the glue dries quite quickly v Glue will be touch dry within 10 minutes or so, slightly longer if applied too thickly v Soap and water clean-up, but do wash the brush straight away. The varnish in the glue will dry solid
