HUNGERFORD Town al- most produced a sensation- al comeback in their 4-3 home defeat to Ebbsfleet United at Bulpit Lane on Saturday, writes MARTYN LEACH. In front of a crowd of 611, it was the visitors who took the lead through Rakosh Bing- ham after an excellent passing move. Hungerford did always look dangerous on the break with Ryan Seager and Sol Wanju-Smith, but it took a goalkeeping error from Chris Haig in the Ebbsfleet goal for Hungerford to equalise half- way through the first half. Haig, rushing out, was beaten to the ball by Wan- jau-Smith, who slotted into the empty net. Ebbsfleet were more domi- nant at the start of the second half and within 10 minutes, a Craig Tanner corner was headed in by Safa Kahraman. The excellent Alfie Egan was causing Hungerford ma- jor problems and substitute Dominic Poleon scored an excellent individual goal on 73 minutes, going past several defenders before coolly finish- ing past Luke Cairney. KINGSCLERE Ladies lost their third game in a row in Division 2 of the Thames Valley Counties League as they went down 3-1 away to Abingdon United Devel- opment.
